The map area is created using a real maps duplicating the intricate details of the area which is then cut from wood and raised from the blue sea area to represent the coastline
All our clocks are available as either desk clocks (approx 6 inches across with a stand) or wall clocks (approx 9 inches with a hanger)

Your location is also important as due to all the factors mentioned above and other physical elements, such as the shape of the shoreline, small bays and estuaries which may alter the magnitude and the tide types you may see which are broken down into three, semidiurnal, mixed semidiurnal, and diurnal tides. Tide clocks are most effective when used in semidiurnal tidal areas (primarily on the Atlantic Coast), which experience two high and two low tides, approximately equal in size every lunar day. These areas are indicated with red highlights on the image in this post.
Given this, tide clocks can be set up at any high tide but ideally should be set up (or reset) at high tide during the full moon, and when done correctly usually any discrepancy during the lunar cycle will be less than 30 minutes and therefore will be unnoticeable. Typically, only four or five days each month will have a difference as great as an hour and the clocks may need occasional corrections which ideally should also be completed at high time on a full moon.
What custom elements can you add to your clock?
The image shows the variety of ways a clock face can be customised. As a general rule providing the customisation doesn't take more than 15 - 30 minutes it will be included in the price.
Once you have placed your order email us including the order number to specify any customisations you wish to add.
Please do this as soon as possible as it may affect the making process from the very beginning
Large Display Clocks
If you have a need for a clock larger than our normal 9" wall clocks just let us know, we also produce custom sized clocks up to 15" accross for a variety of needs such as displays in cafes, shops etc
All custom sized clocks are priced individually particularily because of the shipping element which we can discuss with you when you get in contact.
